【Memories with chopsticks】

When I was little, I remember being scolded at by my father about the way of holding chopsticks. I thank him for now I know that it was one of the manners that the parents grant their children through eating. As Japanese, I come to feel that I want to pass on what the parents taught me and that feeling grew as I grew older. Chopsticks are necessary in Japanese food life, so had been one of the important factors of Japanese culture. And here, I came up with the natural wooded chopsticks, the Saburouemon.

MATERIAL
We chose really rare natural timber from around the world, especially with bumps and Curly.

MAKE
The Ezo-craftsman carved all of the chopsticks one by one from head to toe by hand.

SHAPE
We have three types which the top shows a pentagon, a hexagon, and a octagon instead of the usual circle, triangle, or square. This is because your thumb, index finger, and the middle finger fits better when holding them.

FINISH
We painted one by one with Angelica edulis oil and beeswax of Japanese honeybee.

CASE
Same as the chopsticks,handmade chopstick case like no other in the world. Please enjoy how lovely the handmade is.

” I would like to respect how the Japanese thought about eating, and make one chopstick by chopstick with natural material and warm heart.
